“Swim Fast, Fry Young”

Originally hailing from Seattle Washington, Renae Holland is no stranger to fresh Seafood. At age 8, Renae could be found hawking fresh herbs from the family garden at the local farmers market. A veteran bartender and self-trained chef. She also studied the art of audio engineering and music business, which landed her a job in NYC as a music supervisor.

Tired of the 9-5 grind, Renae sought refuge in her true passion – food. Bon Chovie debuted in 2011 at Brooklyn’s all-food flea market Smorgasburg to rave reviews. Originally focusing on one signature dish – fried fresh anchovies, the Smorgasburg menu has now evolved to offer a range of fresh seafood dishes inspired by the east and west coast.
